Schiele Chair

Schiele Chair

"seated woman with bent knee"

The schiele chair was inspired by the Egon Schiele painting "Seated Woman with Bent Knee", from which it derives its form and colouring. The chair aims to capture the figure of the seated woman using the simple elements of a chair. The legs are turned from solid pine and the slats are steam bent beech, held together with polished mild steel bars.

The schiele chair was bought for the collection of Ms Mimi Lipton in London in 1997. In 1998 the chair was exhibited at the Modern Ground exhibition and a second edition of the chair was made for a client based in the Bahamas.

This chair also won the Smallpiece award from Parnham College in 1997.

Limited edition no. 4 is now available.

Price on request.

Please contact Colin if you would like to discuss commissioning a new edition of the schiele chair.
